The search for a motive and the reasons for the performance of the Secret Service

In the run-up to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, Democratic politicians, media figures and supporters had resorted to scaremongering: Trump would immediately become a dictator and other high-ranking Republicans were ready with an agenda to do so.

This was mainly just strategic campaign noise, had it not been for the uprising at the Capitol years ago, when fanatical Trump supporters broke into the building and hunted down Democrats. Trump seemed to be hoping to contest the election result and prevent the handover of government to the Democrats.

The activists were radicalized by cranks on the Internet and even by mass media such as Fox News. Traditionally, Republicans need unstable activists as voters, and every time these get out of control.

Trump himself limited himself to vague statements so as not to get himself into too much trouble, and later in the day recommended that the rioters go home. A small number of activists later felt betrayed when the big rescue operation did not take place as expected, but they were instead identified and arrested.

The incident, together with the public panic statements from the Democrats, caused highly problematic talk in the USA about how Trump had to be stopped by any means possible. The more talk, the more difficult it is for the security authorities to keep an eye on who is actually a threat out there and who is just talking.

The Democrats gambled big and lost. They themselves overdid it and were also responsible for Trump’s security via the Secret Service.

One of the snipers at the event a few days ago had a white card attached to the scope of his rifle, which was marked with diagrams and numbers. Such cards are used to know immediately which places are within sight and at what distance in order to be able to hit better.

Enemy assassins shoot from a distance of up to 1000 meters. Anything beyond that is a challenge and a bit of a gamble, even for experts with the best equipment.

The most obvious location of a threat was the nearby building a short distance away. Why weren’t officers on the roof? Or at least adequately guarding it?

Former Secret Service Director Julia Pierson told USA TODAY that anything within about 3,000 feet is considered dangerous.

President Ronald Reagan was injured in a shooting at a Washington, D.C., hotel in March 1981. Earlier, in 1975, a member of the Manson Family cult attempted to shoot President Gerald Ford at close range in Sacramento, California.

If Crooks had been recognized by local authorities for suspicious behavior, as some media reported, why was he able to climb a building with a rifle? According to some video and media reports, the Secret Service sniper took aim at Crooks on a nearby rooftop, possibly before he fired some or all of his shots.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, the 27th Director of the United States Secret Service (USSS), was appointed by President Biden in 2022.

This makes her only the second woman in history to lead the agency. While serving with the USSS, she was a member of the VP Protective Detail during the Obama administration, which brought her into direct contact with the Bidens.

Logical errors

On social media and from high-ranking Republicans, one can see statements accusing the Democrats of having facilitated or directed the assassination. Logic seems to no longer interest anyone today, because it is practically impossible to deduce such a simple motive.

Even after the assassination, Donald Trump is just a casino man and real estate dealer. In 2016, influencers could still create a hype that he played four-dimensional chess and had the master plan and the secret team to save America or even arrest the Democrats. What followed was a completely normal Republican Party administration, apart from a few tweets and scandals.

If Trump had been seriously wounded or killed, the Republicans could have simply nominated Nikki Haley and won the presidential election by over 10%. Haley is so employable that she would probably have managed two terms.

What Democratic conspiracy group would use a 20-year-old nerd who can’t even hit a point blank? Trump is replaceable and if the assassination attempt fails, he will become even more popular.

More plausible motives for theoretical backers would be to generate more chaos in America. And here the list of suspects is very long and extends to foreign nations.

It has become clear that in the especially the fanatical Trump supporters do not really understand the past Trump administration and its personnel. They live in a fantasy world, fed by the Internet.
